Il Teatro La Fenice leaves the spatial confines of the theatre to flood the piazza San Marco with notes and perform Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. Right from the powerful opening movement “O Fortuna” – one of the most widely known pieces in Western music – the “Carmina Burana” are a captivating spectacle. Composed between 1935 and 1936, the work is based on 24 medieval poems that were among a collection found in the monastery Benediktbeuren in 1803.
