Menotti intended his science fiction opera for “children and those who love children”. There is only one antidote to the seemingly insurmountable Globolinks that have come to Earth from outer space, encircling people and turning them into Globolinks through touch: music. Evil is chased away by beautiful music, and those who hate music like the school principal are punished to live on as a Globolink. A fantastic story about (and for) children and the power of music.
