Apocalypse, end of the world, revelation: How Telemann imagines this Last Judgment, we learn in his oratorio “The Day Of Judgment”. This year’s International Baroque Days at Melk Abbey open with this complex late work. Baroque specialist Ivor Bolton makes his debut as guest conductor of the Concentus Musicus Wien. In addition, a selected quartet of singers, the Vienna Boys Choir and the chorus sine nomine musically negotiate about downfall, hope and salvation.
