A New Look, the Same Magic: Film Festival 2025

To mark its 35th anniversary, the Film Festival at Vienna’s Rathausplatz is unveiling a whole new look: with an open spatial layout, five impressive screens, new seating areas, and— for the first time—culinary offerings right in the cinema zone. It becomes a place to linger, enjoy, and discover – all with free admission in the heart of Vienna.

Musical Diversity, Now with Structure – the New Weekly Program

For the first time, the 2025 edition of the Film Festival follows a structured weekly format:
From classical music on Mondays, musicals, jazz, and rock on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, to major pop concerts on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays – each day comes with its own sound. Sundays are dedicated entirely to opera, curated by the Vienna State Opera. High-quality concert recordings by ORF III complete the diverse program on the big screen.
