One of the most poignant love stories of all time: On the day of her wedding to Orfeo, Euridice dies from a snake bite. The desperate singer decides to descend into the underworld to bring his beloved back. In Tom Morris’ production, the audience is invited to the wedding celebration of Orfeo and Euridice and experiences the ensuing catastrophe up close. As a result of the traumatic experience, Orfeo is confronted with the underworld of his unconscious. Only after going through the five stages of grief will he be able to accept the death of his beloved.
