The opening of the Grafenegg Festival 2024 is presented by none other than the artistic director himself: Rudolf Buchbinder performs LIVE at the Wolkenturm the symphonic poem “Pelleas und Melisande” op. 5, one of the most performed works of the later twelve-tone composer Arnold Schoenberg, who celebrates his 150th birthday this year. Additionally, a key work of the 20th century will be performed: George Gershwin’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in F, composed immediately after his hit “Rhapsody In Blue.” The distinguished artist will be accompanied by the Tonkunstler Orchestra, under the baton of its chief conductor Yutaka Sado.
