In January 2025, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss, his operetta “The Queen’s Lace Handkerchief” returned to the stage where it had its world premiere in 1880. The seventh operetta by the waltz king became his greatest success and is considered a parody of the rebellious Crown Prince Rudolf, whose liberal ideas caused difficulties for the Habsburg monarchy.
