Starting at 5 pm, the evenings from Thursday to Saturday transform into a musical open-air after-work event. Warm summer evenings invite you to meet up with friends, get to know new ones or enjoy a relaxed end to the day by yourself.

With the wonderful mix of DJ sounds, a delicious culinary offering, refreshing cocktails and the fantastic atmosphere between the Town Hall and the Burgtheater, the Film Festival is a truly pleasant way to draw the day to a close.

To get in the mood for the musical delight, this is preceded by an activity programme in the Rathauspark from 2 pm delivered by the initiative “Bewegung findet Stadt”. Participation stations, fun games and other sporting offers provide plenty of options to ensure that young music lovers can properly let off steam before the presentation.

Since the introduction of the Children’s Opera Festival in 2018, young visitors have also been at the centre of the Film Festival. A selected programme with age-appropriate opera films and popular kids’ music productions, an LED screen suitable for daylight hours along with outstanding acoustics invite visitors to join in on a musical journey of adventure free of charge every Friday at 5 pm.

Every Friday July 19 – August 30

In cooperation with Kultursommer Wien, Vienna’s Summer of Culture event, two concert evenings are planned at this year’s Film Festival. On 20 July, a real treat awaits fans of brass music, who will get a taste of the diversity of this genre.

On 21 July, polyphonic diversity will be celebrated with a choral evening.

Both performances start at 6:30 pm.

On July 13, Femme Jam – Vienna’s Female Songwriter Summit hosted by hope will lead & Leelah Sky

Following the successful launch of Femme Jam – shortly before International Women’s Day 2024 – the event is now entering its second round:
4 interesting female singer-songwriters who will not only present their own compositions, but also give an insight into their experiences as women in the (Viennese) music scene.

Max Willow

Max Willow is an instrumental fingerstyle guitarist based in his adopted home of Vienna. Influenced by Erik Mongrain, Newton Faulkner and Mike Dawes, Max creates captivating soundscapes by seamlessly interweaving percussive fingerstyle with soulful melodies and digital effects.

After starting to digitally stream his passion to the world in 2020, he recorded and released his debut album ‘Ebb and Flow’ thanks to the support of his fan base. His second studio album is expected to be released in 2024.

She writes openly and honestly without filters: lyrics about interpersonal relationships, encounters in the underground, life crises and everything that life brings with it. She writes her lyrics based on her feelings – no matter how cringeworthy they may sometimes be. Sentimental German lyrics meet upbeat, neo-soul, rhythmic sounds. Born in Lower Austria, she has been performing on stage since she was 4 years old. From dance to musicals, acting and as a music artist. She started songwriting at the age of 15 and took part in casting shows such as ‘The Voice Austria’. She regularly performs at singer/songwriter nights and organises concerts as a solo act or in a duo. She currently lives in Vienna and studies acting at the Krauss drama school. She has already released 4 singles and her first EP is already being planned and will be released soon.
