“Patchwork” is the story of two families who find their way to a life together as a patchwork family: Vera and Niko are single parents, Vera is a teacher and has three children, Lea, Tim and Antonia. Architect Niko is moving into the neighbouring apartment to cope with the difficult situation of separation from his wife in a new environment with his son Joshua. The opera shows that there are solutions that lead to a happy ending even in such difficult situations.
